Why is the occupancy sensor P/N MTN630919 is not reacting correctly to presence of people?
1. How is the product installed and mounted? Please refer to the product's Operating instructions for the correct installation and mounting instructions. Failure to follow proper instructions will affect the accuracy.
2. Where is it installed? (Indoors/Outdoors)? Please note that operating temperature limits illustrated in the product's Operating instructions. Failure to follow proper operating instructions will affect the accuracy.
3. What is the mounting height? The recommended installation height as per the product's Operating instructions is 2.5 meters. Failure to follow proper mounting height will affect the accuracy.
4. Are there any obstacles in front of the detector? Obstacles may lead to detection error. Please refer to the paragraph below.
Errors in motion detection can have several reasons.
Temperature in the room can have an influence on the detection. If the room temperature is close to the surface temperature of a human body, the detector will not see any difference between the air and the person and thus will not detect movement.
The detection is best at a mounting height of 2.5 meters. Larger heights will increase the detection area but decrease the sensitivity of the detector.
The sensitivity is better when a person walks laterally towards the detector, when walking directly towards the detector the sensitivity is lower.
It takes approximately 60 seconds for detector to warm up after power is supplied for the first time or re-supplied after shut off, then enters into normal operation mode to carry out a walk test.
