There are two versions of the Group 3 controllers for the legacy model ASCO 165: the 4-wire start version and the 2-wire start version. While there may be residual stock for the 4-wire start version (subject to confirmation with ASCO Parts), the 2-wire start version is completely unavailable.
ASCO offers two kits for the replacement controllers for the ASCO 165 and these kits use the Group 4 controller of the current ASCO 185. As such, the replacement controller kits can only support 2-wire start generators. The kit numbers are the following:
PN 842363 - GRP 4 165 CP RETROFIT KIT (TOP RIGHT MOUNTED)
PN 842977 - GRP 4 165 CP RETROFIT KIT (BOTTOM LEFT MOUNTED) -- for load center units
