Cause

  1. A further investigation of the running processes will show the WebReach.XMLSubscriptionService.exe*32 using 30% to 50% of CPU usage with high number of Handles and Threads.
  2. Undersized systems can occasionally be overwhelmed by the number of requests that IIS must handle. It is important to reference the system guide when designing hardware and IT requirements for each PME system. PME systems are unique and must be accurately designed for expected growth.

Resolution

  1. Stopping WebReach.XMLSubscription service on PME server drops the high CPU usage. Web Applications Diagram (WebReach) user on the network is possibly using XML scraping process to pull real time data into third party system. Scraping XML process impacts performance of PME server and therefore not supported.
  2. See FAQ000270507.
