->Resolution:

The battery only works to keep the internal clock running while there's no power in the PLC. It has nothing to do with the project being loaded into the controller.

The boot program is stored in the flash memory, which does not require battery backup; in case of a power outage you won't lose the program.

You can clone the application on an SD Card and have it as a backup just in case you need to put it into a replacement PLC if the PLC happens to be damaged in the future.
