How is the S-Flex wired to use or not use the Smoke Purge feature?
Issue:
Wiring S-Flex for the Smoke Purge feature.

Product Line:
S-Flex

Environment:
S-Flex with Bypass option

Cause:
Wiring to enable or disable smoke purge

Resolution:
All S-Flex Series E units that have the BYPASS option will also have a SMOKE PURGE feature, although it is disabled.  To enable the smoke purge function, simply remove the jumper from terminals 3-4 and place it on terminals 9-10.  This feature includes a smoke purge relay, SPR, that is activated by applying 120Vac across terminals 17-18.  When activated, SPR contacts will disable the AFC / BYP controls and energize the bypass contactor coil.  The motor will run with full voltage AC power.
