Upgrading Data Center Expert from 8.0 to 8.1 or 8.1.1 breaks EcoStruxure Building Operation integration
Issue:
Upgrading Data Center Expert from 8.0 to 8.1 or 8.1.1 breaks EcoStruxure Building Operation integration
Product Line:
EcoStruXure Data Center Expert
Environment:
DCE version 8.1 and 8.1.1
EBO potentially any version.
Cause:
If EBO integration worked on 8.0 but fails on 8.1 and 8.1.1, it is likely due to a change in authentication in DCE.
An authentication feature added to 8.1.x enabled digest authentication. While the ITA integration works fine, EBO appears to no longer be able to authinticate with DCE properly and may have the following error:
"Digest authentication failed. EWS-Server doesn't support digest. Access_Denied: 401"
Resolution:
This can not be changed in the DCE UI and will be addressed in DCE version 8.2.
Until 8.2 is released, it is suggested that you redeploy at DCE 8.0 and wait for the 8.2 release due out later this year (2024).
