Unable to Read Flow Computer Notes

This feature was added in Realflo 7.12.1: Support for Flow Computer Notes in the Setup menu for SCADAPack x70 devices. These notes are retrieved with the flow computer configuration.

In the Flow computer Setup, you can add the Notes:

Possible reasons why the "Unable to Read Flow Computer Notes" error occurred.

  • It is possible that the FlowComputerNotes.xml file is missing or does not exist, causing this issue. To determine if the FlowComputerNotes.xml file exists, telnet to the device and go to the Realflo directory.

  • Its also possible that the FlowComputerNotes.xml file is corrupted.
RESOLUTION:
  • Read the Realflo program using an older version of the Realflo app (e.g., Realflo v7.11.1), then save it. Open the saved program using Realflo v7.12.1 or newer, and write the same Realflo program back to the SCADAPack x70 device using Realflo v7.12 or later. Finally, use the latest Realflo app to read the Realflo configuration back.
  • Write the file "FlowComputerNotes.xml" using Write File to Device in RemoteConnect and changing the destination file path to \Realflo\FlowComputerNotes.xml

  • Or, copy and transfer the attached FlowComputerNotes.xml file to the SCADAPack x70 RTU using FTP. Please see the steps below to enable the FTP server in RemoteConnect and then use Filezilla to transfer the file into the Realflo folder on the SCADAPack x70 device.
Please enable the FTP server in RemoteConnect and write the program back to the SCADAPack x70 device.

Using FileZilla, transfer the FlowComputerNotes.xml file from the computer to the Realflo folder on the SCADAPack x70 device.
