Basic Meters Display Time Mismatch with PME After Time Sync

Issue description:

When the meter is connected to PME, a few minutes after the time sync, the time shown on the meter display does not match the time displayed in PME.

Environment:

PME Management Console, Basic Meter Display Settings

Cause:

PME sends only a UTC time sync request to the device. The time on the meter display changes to UTC time if the device is synced with PME.

Resolution:

To ensure that the time in PME and the device is the same, follow the steps below:

1. Change the meter time from GMT to local time and provide the correct GMT offset on the meter display.
   (Example: If the time zone is UTC+8, set the offset on the meter display to 8.0.)

2. Select the correct time zone in the PME Management Console.

Once the device is synced with PME, the time on the meter display and the PME device diagram will show the same time.

Note: With these settings, the ION Setup will display only the UTC time for the device.
