Troubleshooting DTM UI Error in RemoteConnect When Setting Up IMP10s with RealFlo

When setting up IMP10s with RealFlo and RemoteConnect, it is essential to install the following DTMs:

Schneider Electric Modbus DTM’s

https://www.se.com/th/en/download/document/Modbus Communication DTM Library/

IMP10S DTM

https://www.se.com/us/en/download/document/IMP10S_MODBUS_DTM/

After installing the DTMs, you may encounter the following error when double-clicking the Modbus SL Communication DTM to configure it:

DTM Topology Editor Unable to open the DTM UI. IDtmActiveXControl.Init call returned false.

DTM error

This error typically indicates that the DTM components failed to initialize correctly. It often occurs due to installation issue of the Modbus Communication DTM.

How to Resolve the Issue

Step 1: Repair the Modbus Communication DTM

  1. Open Control PanelPrograms and Features.
  2. Locate Modbus Communication DTM Library.
  3. Select it and choose Repair.

Step 2: Restart RemoteConnect

After the repair process completes, restart RemoteConnect to apply the changes.
