Ecostruxure Process Expert for ASP [2023]: How to resolve ASP-Asset Link configuration not able to generate instances.
During project development, the following behaviors may be observed:
- The system fails to generate object instances in ASP from the Asset Link configuration.
- No error dialog, warning, or notification is shown to the user.
- The corresponding XML file is generated, but not in the correct format.
- Specifically, the Local/Area attribute values in the XML output are missing, appearing as empty or null fields.
- Because these critical attributes are absent, the ASP engine silently skips instance generation.

The issue occurs in the Control Project when the Auto Assign Candidate Facets setting is disabled. Refer below image details for more information,
Based on the current product design, instance information is retrieved from the container only when this flag is enabled. Since the flag is set to false (Disable) , an empty instance list is passed to the Export Plant Model Hierarchy process. As a result, the generated XML does not include the expected hierarchical details.
To resolve this instances not generated behavior issue, user need to be modified above mentioned settings from disable to Enable.
This Issue is noted in EPEFASP2023 version. But its applicable to all the versions of Ecostruxure Process Expert Aveva System Platform.
