What causes an OP1 (overvoltage during acceleration time) on an ATV21/212 drive?

Article available in these languages: Spanish, Dutch

Issue:
Troubleshooting OP1 on an ATV21/212 drive.

Product Line:
Altivar ATV21 and ATV212 drives.

Environment:
All

Cause:
Overvoltage during acceleration

Resolution:
This can be caused by a number of factors.

In main menu under AUF:
Set Au1 to 0  (disables auto ramp)
Set PT to 0   (Constant V/Hz- linear voltage/speed ratio)
Set ACC time to a higher value if the time frame is very short.

Under F--- submenu:
Enable catch on the fly, parameter F301= 3
Set overvoltage fault operation level F626 to 150%

Check problems on an application level:
An opposing force that maybe acting upon the load that is controlled by the drive can cause backfeed issues on the drive's dc bus such as higher DC potential causing over voltage issues.
