What are the tripping times of the SM6 range switchgear?
For SM6 switches (IM, PM or QM type cubicle):

The average response times depend on the type of operating mechanism used with the switch:
  • 1 to 2 seconds on closing and opening for a motorised CIT operating mechanism
  • 5 to 7 seconds on closing and 25 to 35 ms on opening for a motorized CPI operating mechanism
  • 45 to 55 ms on closing
  • 25 to 35 ms on opening for a motorized CI2 operating mechanism after setting.

The switch can only break a current corresponding to its nominal current, i.e. 400 A or 630 A.
The circuit breaker can break a short-circuit current up to 12.5 kA.
For SM6 circuit breakers (DM1A, D or W type cubicle): after setting the operating mechanism, the average response times of the SF1 circuit breakers are: 70 ms for closing and 50 to 60 ms for opening.
