Unfortunately, there is no direct replacement for the GNS safety relay, but we can suggest an alternative.
The GNS product was a 115V AC amplifying safety relay. The purpose of this type of safety relay was to amplify signals emitted by detectors (2-wire, 3-wire PNP, 3-wire NPN, magnetic detectors or position switches), thus interfacing between low level sensor inputs and safety outputs.
GNS was initially replaced by part number XPSNS3440 (120V AC) - see attached GNS to XPSNS document. However, this replacement was made obsolete in 2014.
XPSNS3440 was not directly replaced, however, it could be partially replaced by XPSAK351144 (120V AC) for monitoring of 2 inductive sensors PNP or NPN, with or without short circuit protection. However, this range has also now been replaced.
The closest current replacement is XPSUAK32AP (48-240V AC/DC). However, this is technically a replacement for XPSAK and not the GNS or its direct replacement the XPSNS. See above caveats for XPSNS - XPSAK. Regarding XPSUAK, see attached XPSAK to XPSUAK document, or go to our website www.se.com/uk and type the above part number into the search bar for more information.
Note: The wiring between these products is not the same. The best way to replace a product 4 generations old is to look at the circuits you have and re-wire / redesign as necessary, based on the new wiring diagram. You can also compare wiring diagrams of old and new products, you just need to do it 3 times; GNS to XPSNS, XPSNS to XPSAK and finally XPSAK to XPSUAK. Please see attached substitution documents showing wiring diagrams for all products listed above.
