What do we need to change or receive values remotely from Zelio Smart Relay SR2/SR3?

If we want to change a value or receive a value then the easiest solution is via the combination of the Zelio + SR2COM01 + SR2CBL07 + SR2MOD02 + Sim Card (this is not provided by Schneider Electric).

With this solution we can use our smart phone to send/receive messages to/from the Zelio Smart Relay.

As you see in the picture above not all the Zelio Smart Relays can use the SR2COM01 so check the Zelio that you are using.

If we want to use a different way to show the data from the Zelio then probably the best will be to use an additional Schneider Electric Harmony HMI so we can access to the WebGate (Vijeo Designer) or WebViewer (EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert) of this device.

Now we need to defined how we are going to communicate with the HMI. If we decide not to use the SR2COM01 solution the we have 3 ways:

1) Using the embedded port of the Zelio to communicate to the HMI but the code must be FBD not ladder.

2) Using an additional communication module Modbus Serial (SR3MBU01BD), the Zelio can only be slave in the network and this module is compatible with Zelio SR3 (not all the SR3 so check in the software).

3) Using an additional communication module Modbus Tcp (SR3NET01BD), the Zelio can only be server in the network and this module is compatible with Zelio SR3 (not all the SR3 so check in the software).

By using a Harmony HMI we will need to use the ethernet communication of our customer on site then we will required the right configuration to access remotely. If we want to use an external network to access to the parameter of the machine then a Harmony PC box + 4G sim card module can be a solution and we can replace the HMI for this.

Before proceeding with this solution it is important to discuss with the IT department if they are agree to have an external network on site to avoid any risk of cybersecurity.

If we want a secure connect to site then we can use the EcoStruxure Secure Connect Advisor with our Harmony HMIs or Harmony PC Box/iPCs.
