Can you use an ATS48 soft starter for a resistive load?

Issue:
Can an Altistart ATS48 soft start be used for a resistive load?

Resolution:
No. The ATS48 soft starters cannot be used with resistive loads. They require a lagging power factor. Soft starters are designed for motor loads only.
