Why are there three wiring terminals for power on a XUJT100314?

Terminal 1 is used for AC neutral (L2) or DC common. Wire AC hot (L1) or DC positive to terminal 2 for DARK operation. For LIGHT operation use terminal 3.
This sensor has an electromechanical output relay with the armature (COMMON) on terminal 6, N.C. contact on terminal 5, and N.O. contact on terminal 4.
