Can the EZM metering or MP Meter-Pak meter centers be installed near the ocean or potential salt spray?

The Square D manufactured EZM main and branch devices and the MP Meter-Pak meter centers are UL Listed as indoor/rainproof NEMA Type 3R enclosures.
The enclosure finish is gray baked-on powder coat epoxy over cleaned galvannealed sheet steal and all current carrying conductors are fabricated of tin plated conductor grade aluminum or copper bus bars and/or connectors.
Square D does not offer multi-metering equipment in a NEMA 4X stainless steel enclosure, and meter equipment suppliers do not offer NEMA 4X watt-hour meters. Over the past 35+ years of building MP and EZM metering equipment, meter centers have been installed along the coast line and intercoastal water ways. As long as these enclosures do not come in direct contact with salt spray, or salt water, the life expectancy in these service areas is quite good.
NOTE: There some EZM and/or MP accessories, like the EZM bussed corner sections that are NEMA Type 1 indoor use ONLY. PLEASE VERIFY EACH COMPONENT NEMA TYPE BEFORE INSTALLATION.
