Can any of the QO or Homeline, NEMA 3R (outdoor) load centers be mounted on the side or rotated 90 degrees?
Issue:
Product Design Features
Product Line:
QO and Homeline Load centers
Resolution:
There are no NEMA 3R load centers that are able to be mounted on the side (or rotated 90 degrees) and maintain the weatherproof rating. They MUST be mounted in the upright, vertical position. The driphood orientation will be incorrect, and water could enter the enclosure above current carrying parts. Also, it would violate the NEC because half of the interior branch breakers would be incorrect. The NEC requires the 'ON' to be in the up or sideways position and with the load center rotated 90 degrees, half of the branch breakers would have the 'ON" in the down position.
