Product Line:
EZM Metering
Environment:
Main Horizontal Bus Structure
Cause:
Application
Resolution:
YES, but first keep in mind that before adding a current style EZM Branch Unit to an Existing Old Style EZM (Series: 1, 2, or 3) Meter Center, available Horizontal Wall Space and Height above Grade or Floor Level must be determined prior to ordering or installing. EZM Meter Centers are UL Listed as Modular Wall Mounted Panelboards. Tops and Bottoms of EZM various Cabinets may not be of the same Heights.
EZM Cabinets are secured to the Wall by use of Mounting Channels connected end to end in a Straight Line. New Style EZM Mounting Channels must be positioned 12.25" Lower on Joint wall than what was used for Old Style EZM Mounting Channels. This difference in height along with EZM differences in Branch Unit configurations have the potential of being an issue when dealing with acceptable Minimum and Maximum Meter Socket Heights above Grade or Floor Levels.
Old Style EZM was configured with a Horizontal Stacked (Front to Rear) Bus Structure and provided with a Sliding Joint-Pack and Single VISI-TITE Joint Bolt used for connecting Cabinets to Cabinets.
Phasing of Old Style EZM 3-Phase, 4-Wire Units: C-Phase, B-Phase, Neutral, A-Phase (viewed Front to Rear),
Phasing of Old Style EZM 1-Phase, 3-Wire Units: Phase, Neutral, Phase (viewed Front to Rear)
New Style EZM is configured with a Horizontal Bus Structure placing each Bus Bar one above the other.
Left sided of each New Style EZM Cabinet has Slot End Bus Bars extending 1.50" beyond Cabinet's Side Wall
Right side of each New Style EZM Cabinet has Bolt End Bus Bar Bars with VISI-TITE Double headed Nuts.
Phasing of New Style EZM 3-Phase, 4-Wire Units would be: A-Phase, B-Phase, C-Phase, Neutral (viewed Top to Bottom)
Phasing of New Style EZM 1-Phase, 3-Wire Units would be: Phase, Phase, Blank Space, Neutral (viewed Top to Bottom)
Square D offers Transition Sections needed for Connection of New Style EZM Branch Units to Old Style EZM Meter Centers.
Four different versions are available (Drawings and Instruction Sheets are attached), each Transition Section is 10.75" Wide.
Single Phase New Style EZM Units connecting to LEFT of an Existing Old Style EZM Meter Center requires Transition Section: EZM1TRANL
Single Phase New Style EZM Units connecting to RIGHT of an Existing Old Style EZM Meter Center requires Transition Section: EZM1TRANR.
Three Phase New Style EZM Units connecting to LEFT of an Existing Old Style EZM Meter Center requires Transition Section: EZM3TRANL
Three Phase New Style EZM Units connecting to RIGHT of an Existing Old Style EZM Meter Center requires Transition Section: EZM3TRANR.
