The difference between minimum and maximum water level change depends on where the pivot point is set for the float linkage. In the photograph, p 22-11, of Digest 174, The vertical post closest to the float rod attachment is vertical The line drawing to its right shows that same vertical post slanted from
upper right to lower left. These represent the two different locations of the pivot point.

For a very deep tank, choose a float switch for maximum water level change, for a shallow tank, choose a float switch with a minimum water level change.
