Why has the LIM (line isolation monitor) gone into alarm?

Cause:
Exceeding the predetermined threshold of leakage current (2 or 5mA) for an isolated power system will result in LIM alarm.

Resolution:
Among the most common reasons for line isolation monitor alarms are medical equipment failure, damaged extension cords and too many devices plugged into the system.
