Cause:
Changes to requirements for arc fault protection of some circuits has resulted in greater need for CAFI branch breakers. In the past a large proportion of these circuit breakers in an NQ panelboard necessitated a double panel. This is no longer the case.
Resolution:
Yes, an engineering change now allows for (42) QOB120CAFI to be installed in a single section NQ panelboard.
The neutral pigtails of the branch breakers will be spliced as needed in order for the panelboard to accommodate all of the branch devices in a single section panelboard.
