Will the 1200 A heavy duty safety switches accept a class L, 800 A fuse?

Yes, the standard size for ALL 1200 A safety switches is a class L, 1200 A. But the two inner fuse mounting bolts that are provided on the 1200 A switch can be used to mount a 800 A size, class L fuse.
NOTES:
1) DO NOT USE RENEWABLE LINK FUSES IN SQUARE D SAFETY SWITCHES. The use of renewable link fuses may adversely affect user safety, impair reliability and will void the warranty.
