Can you run a larger HP motor on a lower rated HP soft starter?

Issue:
Wanting to run a larger HP motor on a lower rated HP soft starter?

Product Line:
Altistart ATS22 ATS48 ATS46

Environment:

Cause:
They want to run a 400 HP motor on a 350 HP rated soft starter.

Resolution:
No you can not run a larger motor on a smaller HP rated soft starter.
It is recommended that you size the soft starter for Voltage, HP,  Application and Current.
