Can the ATV312 Drive Be Configured with a 3-Contactor Bypass System?
Resolution:
Yes. Although the ATV312 is not available as an enclosed product with a built-in bypass option, it can be integrated into a 3-contactor bypass configuration.
In this setup:
- The Isolation Contactor (IC) and Bypass Contactor (BC) are controlled by an external control circuit.
- The Drive Output Contactor (DOC) is controlled by the ATV312 using an output relay assigned to the Run Status function.
- A DOC auxiliary contact should be wired as a run-permissive input to the drive to ensure proper operation.
Refer to the attached wiring diagram for an example of a typical 3-contactor bypass configuration.
