Are braking units and resistors available for Altivar 12 (ATV12) drives?
Resolution:
The ATV12 does not have a built-in braking unit, so a braking resistor cannot be connected directly to the drive. An external braking module is required.
In the United States, the VW3A11701 braking module can be connected to the ATV12. The braking resistor is then connected to the external braking module.
For applications in the United States, Powerohm can also assist with braking resistor selection, as some resistor models listed in Schneider Electric global documentation may not be available for sale in the U.S.
