ATV630 Why am I getting Motor Short circuit fault when switching STOA or STOB with an external power supply?

Issue:
ATV630 -getting Motor Short circuit fault when switching STOA or STOB, with an external power supply.

Product Line:
ATV630 process drive.

Environment:
All models and serial numbers with firmware revision below 1.3IE07

Cause:
Firmware issue.

Resolution:
This situation was verified as a problem with the drive firmware and was repaired with firmware release V1.3IE07.  If you have a 630 process drive with firmware below V1.3IE07, upgrading the firmware will correct this problem.
