How do you set up the ATV312 for for Auto/Manual (HOA) Control?
Resolution:
The ATV312 can be configured for Auto/Manual (Hand-Off-Auto or HOA) control using a three-position selector switch. This setup allows the drive to switch between two different speed references, typically a manual speed command and an automatic process control signal.
Configuration Steps
1. Configure the Speed References (CTL Menu)
Set the following parameters:
- Fr1 = AI1 → Manual speed reference
- Fr2 = AI3 → Automatic speed reference
- RFC = LI3 → Input used to switch between Fr1 and Fr2
When LI3 changes state, the drive switches between the manual and automatic speed references.
2. Disable Preset Speeds (FUN Menu)
To prevent preset speed functions from interfering with HOA operation, disable the preset speed parameters:
- PS2 = No
- PS4 = No
How It Works
- Hand (Manual): The drive uses the speed reference assigned to AI1.
- Off: The drive is stopped.
- Auto: The drive uses the speed reference assigned to AI3.
This configuration allows a three-position HOA switch to select between manual operation, stop, and automatic operation.
