How can an ATV212 provide an alarm indicating a potential cooling fan or overheating issue before the drive faults?
While the ATV212 does not provide direct cooling fan status monitoring, it can provide an early warning of an overheating condition before an overtemperature fault occurs.
A flashing "L" on the drive keypad indicates that the drive is approaching an overheating condition. This warning can also be monitored through Modbus communications.
- Function Code: FC91
- Register: 64,657
- Bit: 3 (Motor Overload Alarm)
By monitoring this bit, a PLC, SCADA system, or other controller can generate an alarm when the drive is nearing an overheating condition, allowing corrective action to be taken before the drive faults and causes downtime.
