What does the OLN parameter mean on ATV21 and ATV212 drives?

The OLN parameter defines the motor overload protection characteristics (called OLM in the ATV212 manual).

• It controls how the drive protects the motor from overload
• It considers the motor cooling type (self-cooled or forced-cooled)
• It determines the drive response (trip, alarm, or speed reduction)

Default

• Set to [0] self-cooled motor, suitable for most applications

Note

If overload protection is disabled, external motor protection must be used to prevent damage.
