Can the ATV630 be programmed to run two pumps and alternate them based on run time?

Yes, the ATV630 can be programmed to do this.

You must change the Macro Config to Pump booster application first.


The, under Pump Functions there are several scenarios to consider:  It's simplest to go to the Parameters Layout tab in SoMove to see the options.

1: One drive and one or more constant speed motors (motor starter or softstart controlled).

In this mode a single drive/motor is always running and it can switch on and off several additional motors as needed to maintain a PID setpoint (pressure or flow are most common).

2: One drive that can switch between multiple motors:

In this mode different motors can be connected to the drive.  Other motors can be switched on or off as needed

3 Multiple drives: requires VW3A3721 option card in each drive.
In this mode, one drive is designated as the Master, and it will turn on and off the others, and adjust their speed as needed to maintain the setpoint.  The Slave devices can be alternated to provide equal run time per pump.

4: Multiple drives with redundant master:

In this mode several drives can be designated as Master or Slave and the system will turn on/off and set speed.  It also allows for alternating based on pump run time.

The screenshots above are intended to show what options are available and where to find them in the SoMove programming software (V2.9.2 shown).  They are not intended to show a complete, working system.
