Geo SCADA uses a native 64-bit Crystal Reports runtime and therefore requires a 64-bit ODBC system DSN configured.
Crystal Reports itself is a 32-bit program and needs a 32-bit ODBC system DSN configured.
For this reason, both a 32-bit system DSN and 64-bit system DSN need to be configured on the Geo SCADA server PC. A user may use the following steps in order to configure both of these system DSN's:
1) Using Windows File Explorer, navigate to C:\Windows\System32 and locate the odbcad32.exe file.
2) Double-click to open the ODBC Data Source Administrator (64-bit). Click on the 'System DSN' tab and then click the 'Add' button. Select the 'ClearSCADA Driver'.
3) In the name field enter: Geo SCADA Expert. Ensure the system is set to the local database (i.e. MAIN) and ensure 'Allow Anonymous' is checked.
(Optional: fill out the 'User Name' and 'Password' fields.)
4) Click 'OK and 'OK' again to close these dialogs.
5) Now navigate to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and locate the odbcad32.exe file.
6) Double-click to open the ODBC Data Source Administrator (32-bit)
7) Repeat steps 3) and 4)
8) No go into the Geo SCADA server configuration | Global Parameters | Crystal Reports dialog
9) Ensure the DSN field reads: Geo SCADA Expert
It is important that the spelling of Geo SCADA Expert is consistent in both system DSN's and in the server configuration.
Restart the Geo SCADA server in order to activate the connection.
