Logic operations explained for PM5500 Logical Alarms
Issue
User is trying to create logical alarms on a PM5500 meter and is unsure what the different logic operations are

Product Line
PM556X meters

Environment
Alarming

Cause
The logical alarms on the PM556X meters includes logic operations that can be used to combine multiple alarms to control an output on the meter

Resolution
The logic operations for the logical alarms are AND, NAND, OR, NOR, and XOR. Please see the descriptions for each operation below. You can think of an input as True if the alarm you selected is triggered. You can think of an input as False if the alarm you selected is not triggered.

AND: Output operation is True if all inputs are True.
NAND: Output is True if one or more inputs are False
OR: Output is True if one or more inputs are True
NOR: Output is True only if all inputs are False
XOR: Output is True only if one input is True and all other inputs are False
