Issue
After correcting a network topology or broadcast storm issue on my M580, the Device DDT variable structure (of DDT Data Type = T_BMEP58_ECPU or T_BMEP58_ECPU_EXT) reports that a potential network broadcast storm is detected.
e.g.) BMEP58_ECPU_EXT.NETWORK_HEALTH (Bit 8 starting from 0 in the ETH_STATUS Word) = 0
which indicates that a potential network broadcast storm is detected.
The value is not reset back to 1 (which means that a network broadcast storm is not detected)
Product line
EcoStruxure Control Expert, Unity Pro, Modicon M580 PLC
Resolution
Before firmware version 2.80 for M580 PLCs, a power cycle of the CPU was required to reset the bit. From V2.80 forward, the bit will reset itself after the problem is corrected.
A firmware upgrade >=2.80 is recommended to correct the behavior.
