Issue
Beginning with the 2019 catalog, it states that the modules are not compatible. The older catalogs, user guides and programming versions stated that it was. The latest version of Control Expert and the latest Modicon X80 Discrete I/O user manual both have been updated to indicate the incompatibility.

Resolution
It was discovered that there’s incompatibility between the X80 DI modules (BMXDDI3202K/6402K) and ABE7H16S43. The leakage current through the red LED (blown fuse indicator) is greater than the threshold current of X80 DI modules and through this path the voltage applied to DI module’s port is greater than the threshold as well. The modules are not compatible.
The following can be used:
Connection bases -> ABE-7H08R**, ABE-7H08S21, ABE-7H16R**, ABE-7H16S21, ABE-7H16R23
Input adapter connection bases -> ABE-7S16E2** and ABE-7P16F3**
