Can the "G" shunt trip on an F or K frame breaker used with the GFM also be used to trip the breaker from a remote source?

Published date: 21 May 2020

Product Line:
G shunt trip

Environment:
Electrical distribution

Resolution:
No. Applying voltage to the "G" shunt trip will also apply voltage to the unprotected GFM output, and will damage the GFM. Also, the "G" shunt trip has no coil clearing switch, and will burn out on a longer than momentary contact.
