Does SquareD/Schneider Electric offer Single Phase Non-Linear Transformers?

Issue:
Single Phase Special Transformers

Product Line:
LV Transformers

Environment:
Applies to Single Phase Transformer products from SquareD/Schneider Electric

Cause:
Non Linear Transformers are often used in applications with high levels of Harmonic Energy

Resolution:
Technically, there is no such thing as a Single-Phase (1ph) Non-Linear rated Transformer. Single phase Transformers need to be rated to carry the maximum current that the load is likely to demand.

For example: if you have only one non-linear device, which is the only load (the worst case scenario for a non-linear current draw,) the worst case current peak would be the square root of three times the load's rated current. Thus, if the load were rated for 10 amps at 240 volts, the most you would need is 10*240*1.732=4,157VA or a 5kVA standard Single phase Transformer.
