Issue:
How are branch neutrals and equipment ground conductors wired in a QO or Homeline load center used as a subpanel?
Product Line:
Load Center
Environment:
Homeline and QO Load Centers
Resolution:
NOTE: ALWAYS make sure to follow the NEC and Local Code Requirements for ANY wiring.
The branch neutral conductors should be terminated in the insulated branch neutral assembly terminals. The main neutral should not be bonded to the enclosure in a sub-panel application (i. e. the green neutral bonding screw will NOT be installed). Use a PK__GTA Ground Bar Kit for terminating the equipment ground conductors. Dependent upon the load center in use, the Ground Bar Kit may be factory included, factory installed, or require purchasing separately.
NOTE: The Main Neutral Bar in a Square D load center should NEVER be cut or separated for ANY reason. Also, the Branch neutral bars connected to both the left and right side of the Main Neutral bar, should NEVER be disconnected for ANY reason.
