The have compartmentalized disconnects, dedicated tenant wire landings, and a tighter vertical footprint. It’s a direct replacement for electricians already familiar with the MP family—no retraining, no changes to the utility side.
What does NEC 2020 require for meter centers in small multifamily?
NEC 2020 requires compartmentalized barriers between service disconnects (230.71(B)), enclosed/guarded energized parts (230.62), and a labeled outdoor emergency disconnect on 1–2 family dwellings (230.85). The MP Meter-Pak is purpose-built to meet these requirements out of the box.
How is the MP Meter-Pak different from horizontal designs or EZM?
Horizontal meter centers add up to 32% more wall width on 5- and 6-gang installs and require an individual conduit to each meter box. EZM is designed for 7+ unit jobs and requires on-site bus assembly. The MP Meter-Pak is right-sized for 2–6 units with vertical compartmentalization, a single service entrance, and zero field bus connections.
