Can the Unity Momentum CPU be powered up without an IO base?

No. It is not possible to supply power to the 12 pin connector located under the CPU in order to make it functional. The CPU requires an IO base in order to complete the circuitry that will give it the 'PLC READY' which will allow communications and functionality.

This applies to 171CBU**as well as the older 171CCC** models.
