Does the BMXP341000 support Ethernet?

Adding Ethernet Capability to a Modicon M340 BMXP341000 CPU (this actually applies to any M340 model including ones that have native ethernet)

The BMXP341000 processor does not include an integrated Ethernet port. To add Ethernet communications, install one of the supported Ethernet communication modules in any available slot of the local M340 rack.

The BMXP341000 supports up to two Ethernet communication modules.

1. BMXNOE0100

Modbus TCP Ethernet Network Module

• 1 × RJ45 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port
• Supports:

• Ideal when Modbus TCP communications are required with HMIs, PLCs, drives, and SCADA systems.

Typical Use Case:

Standard Ethernet connectivity for Modbus TCP networks and Schneider Transparent Ready services.

2. BMXNOE0110 (Being phased out)

Enhanced Modbus TCP Ethernet Network Module

• 1 × RJ45 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port
• Provides the same core Ethernet services as the BMXNOE0100:
• Modbus TCP Messaging
• I/O Scanning
• Global Data
• FDR
• SNMP
• Embedded Web Server
• Supports additional web and data services.

Typical Use Case:

Applications requiring advanced Ethernet functionality, larger memory resources, web-based diagnostics, or enhanced FactoryCast/Transparent Ready capabilities.

3. BMXNOC0401

EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP Communication Module

• 4 × RJ45 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports
• Integrated 4-port Ethernet switch
• Supports:
• EtherNet/IP I/O Scanner
• EtherNet/IP Messaging
• Modbus TCP I/O Scanner
• Modbus TCP Messaging
• FDR
• SNMP
• Embedded Web Services
• Designed for modern EtherNet/IP architectures while maintaining Modbus TCP compatibility.

Typical Use Case:

Recommended when connecting to EtherNet/IP devices such as distributed I/O, VFDs, motor control systems, or third-party PLCs, while also supporting Modbus TCP devices on the same network.

Customer Note: Any of the above modules will provide Ethernet capability to a BMXP341000 processor. The correct selection depends primarily on whether the application requires Modbus TCP only (BMXNOE0100/BMXNOE0110) or EtherNet/IP capability (BMXNOC0401).
