171CBU98091 - Control Expert FTP Warning
You can receive a warning when building a project stating: 'Security has been enabled on this module because some services like FTP or other ones are disabled. Please ensure that the firmware version of the real module supports this feature.'
Before Unity Momentum Firmware 2.0 and Unity Pro V13.0, FTP and HTTP protocols were enabled by default in the PLC and there was no way to disable them.
Today, when a Unity Momentum project is created, by default, the configuration has FTP/HTTP disabled. The prompts a message informing the programmer that these services are disabled in the project, but it is the user responsibility to ensure that the firmware of the processor is at a level that supports this functionality. (latest version is 2.90 as of July 2026)
This message which did not appear previous to V13.0 of Unity Pro, can only be turned off by enabling FTP/HTTP when the choices are available. If the choices are not available, there will be no message.
It is not an error, simply a message letting you know that the services have been disabled in the project but if you are running older firmware, services could remain enabled.
