After performing an upgrade, one of the common causes of Virtual ViewX failing with an error “Application load failed” is that the Secondary Logon windows was disabled due to a computer hardening policy.
Ensure that the Secondary Logon windows service is set to manual: Control Panel>Administrative tools>services>secondary logon.
