AGA-8 2017 Detail vs GERG Gas Composition Tables in Realflo

When attempting to modify a gas component value in the AGA-8 gas composition table in Realflo, the software displays the following error message: "Enter a number between 0 and 12."

As a result, the new proposed value cannot be entered or saved.

Example:

  • Current Propane (C3H8) value: 20.68%
  • User attempts to enter a value greater than the allowed range.
  • Realflo displays the error and rejects the change.

This behavior is typically caused by a component value exceeding the permitted range for that gas constituent.
In the example shown in the AGA8-8 Gas Component Ranges Table, Realflo (AGA-8 (1994)) only allows values between 0 and 12% for the selected field.

The Compressibility Calculation selection must change from AGA-8 (1994) to AGA-8 (2017) GERG to increase the allowable range while still making sure that the Total Components add to 100%.
