Can power poles be field installed on the 8903 type L and LX lighting contactors

Cause:
​Would like to field install more power poles

Resolution:
Yes, however adder poles are limited to 6 pole and larger devices only.

NOTE: Power poles can only be used with LO60 , LXO60, LO80, LXO80, LO1000, LXO1000
Power Pole Adder Kits
Class 8903
Single PolesL1L
L1R
Double PoleL3L
L3R
Notes:
Adder poles can not be added to exceed a total of 12 poles.
On the LO60 and LXO60 we can only add single pole kits (1 on each side) to achieve 8 poles
On the LO80 and LXO80 we can use single pole kits (1 on each side) to achieve 10 poles, or double pole kits (1 on each side) to achieve 12 poles
On the LO1000 and LXO1000 we have to remove the single pole kits (1 on each side) and add double pole kits (1 on each side) to achieve 12 poles


Class 8903 Type L*1000 or 8903LX*1000
- Remove existing single-pole adders and install one each of 8903L3L and 8903L3R to convert to 12-pole contactor.

Class 8903 Type L*60 or 8903LX*60
- Add 1-pole kits only. One each of an 8903L1L and 8903L1R can be added to convert a 6-pole to a 8-pole contactor.

Class 8903 Type L*80 or 8903LX*80
- Add 1-pole kits only. One each of an 8903L1L and 8903L1R can be added to convert to a 10-pole contactor.
Add 2-pole kits only. One each of an 8903L3L and 8903L3R can be added to convert to a 12-pole contactor.

Always keep the unit balanced; do not add a single-pole kit to one side and a double-pole kit to the other.
