Class 1, Division 2 use for 9001K and 9001SK operators

Issue:
Under what conditions can 9001K or 9001SK operators be used in Class 1 Division 2 applications?

Cause:
Class 1 Division 2 applications do not necessitate the need for NEMA 7 or NEMA 9 control stations

Resolution:
9001K and 9001SK operators can be used for Class 1 Divsion 2 Groups A, B, C, D applications so long as all of the following restrictions are observed:
1)  Only logic (9001KA40) or power (9001KA50) reed contact blocks are used
2)  All type K or SK illuminated operators are UL approved for use in Class 1 Division 2 areas - push to test single lamp pilot lights require Y243 form code.
3)  Type KX illuminated operators do not use four lamp modules or 2 lamp modules other than the transformer type.
4)  The operators are mounted in any NEMA 4 or NEMA 13 enclosure
5)  Potentiometers are not used
