Issue:
It may be useful to move Designer diagrams (.cfg) from one system to another.
Product Line:
ION Enterprise, Struxureware Power Monitoring (SPM), Power Monitoring Expert (PME)
Environment:
The Designer component of ION Enterprise, SPM, PME
Cause:
The need to use the same Designer diagram for an ION meter on multiple systems.
Resolution:
*Warning: This article contains information about editing the registry. Improper changes to the registry can permanently damage the operating system. Always backup the registry before making any changes.*
This procedure can be used to take Designer diagrams from a laptop, old installation, or from a development system to a live system.
First the template will be created for a meter using Designer on a laptop/development system. Then the framework file is copied from the nd folder (file suffix .cfg) from the laptop to the live server. The final step is to create an association between the new designer template file and the meter template revision. To accomplish this follow the procedure below:
1) Connect to the meter and create a custom template in Designer.
2) Change the meters 'factory module', template & default template fields to a custom string (for this example abc123).
3) On the primary server, regedit into the 7650 default templates (HKLM/SOFTWARE/Schneider Electric/ION Enterprise/7.2.2/DeviceInfo/7650/TemplateStrings/DefaultVoltsMode/) and add a registry key for the name of custom template (abc123).
4) Make sure that the laptop file /config/diagrams/nd/.cfg is named identical to registry key on primary server (abc123.cfg), and both match the meters template registers.
5) Copy the file from laptop /config/diagrams/nd/abc123.cfg into primary server system\diagrams\nd\abc123\abc123.cfg
This procedure will allow you to create one framework on the laptop in Designer, which in turn creates a custom .cfg file that we can use as a default meter template for Designer.
