Product Line
Unity 13.1
Environment
Windows Server 2016
Resolution
Unity running on a PC that has the 'Windows Server 2016 Standard version' operating system will randomly crash. Examination of the event log file found in the
'Windows Event Viewer\application Log' will show the following message:
- Faulting application path:C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\Unity Pro
- Faulting module path:C:\Windows\System32\mfc110u.dll
The Event Viewer log message indicates that there was a problem accessing or running the Microsoft component named 'mfc110u.dll'. As a result of this, Unity
faulted. The 'mfc110u.dll' is component of the 'mfc110.dll' libraries that get installed by 'Microsoft Studio Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012'.
This issue could be caused by either a bad Windows registry setting or a bad 'mfc110u.dll' file.

If the issue still occurs, the following solution can also be performed.
- Uninstall Unity using the 'Remove Unity Pro XL' option found in the Windows start menu
- Reboot the PC.
- Run a registry cleaner (i.e., CCleaner, etc.)
- Reboot the PC.
