On an ATV320 can I make and break 24v to STO to use as a run enable?
Issue:
Customer wants to have an enable circuit on the ATV320 to use as a run permissive.

Cause:
Need to install a run permissive.
Resolution:
Yes this can be done.
If the drive is running and the STO circuit is opened the drive will cut power to the motor (freewheel stop) and display StO.
If the enable circuit is closed while the Run command is still present, the drive display will show nSt indicating a new run signal is needed...it will not start the motor until the run command is removed and then re-applied (the drive needs to see the Off to ON transition of the run signal AFTER the STO circuit has been energized).
