Environment
SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2008 R 2, SQL Server 2012, SQL Server 2014, SQL Server 2016, SQL Server 2017, SQL Server 2019, SQL Server 2022

Cause
Maintenance operations on larger database make take some time to complete and can also become 'stuck'.  Monitoring
the progress of these operations can be useful when troubleshooting and/or estimating the time to completion for what may be system
impacting maintenance procedures.

Resolution
*Warning: Irreparable database damage can occur. This procedure should only be performed by users familiar with SQL Server Management Studio. Databases should be backed up prior to performing this procedure.*

To retrieve the database maintenance progress information from the current SQL Server installation, log into SQL Server Management Studio
and run the attached SQL script (Mnt_Progress.sql).
Alternatively, execute the query(s) below :

SELECT command, percent_complete, start_time
FROM sys.dm_exec_requests
where percent_complete <> 0;
